McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure clinical track Assistant/Associate/Professor (Breast Surgeon) in the Department of Surgery, Division of Elective General Surgery.
The selected candidates would expand breast surgery coverage to additional hospitals in the Memorial Hermann system. Each facility has an interdisciplinary team of experts including Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, and Breast Imaging Physicians. Memorial Hermann Health System is accredited as an Integrated Cancer Network by the Commission on Cancer. It has a highly aligned physician group within an Oncology ACO. The system sees 1500+ new breast cancer cases per year. Onsite teams include breast nurse navigators, social workers, chaplains and dieticians. The program also includes physical therapists and a Survivorship program. Focused innovative treatment options including the latest in technology. American College of Radiology certified in breast imaging.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Selected individuals are expected to remain active in the education of these trainees and are encouraged to pursue academic research. The clinical practice for this role will encompass all aspects of breast surgery including benign and malignant disease. No general surgery call is required. Multiple practice locations and affiliations are available.
Qualifications:
The selected candidate for the position must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Candidate should be a fellowship-trained breast surgeon. The candidate should be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Surgery.
